At this point the primary woodwork is done. More epoxy coating and fairing on deck surface is needed as well as sealing exposed wood at new block cutouts. Many loose ends to dwell on but the boat will now be aligned with the keel and profiled. The original casting plug has an error in the top flange. It is flat but should have a slight curve to follow the keelson profile. Some cut and fill will occur at the keelson once it is flipped but for now the holes can be transferred.

Mounted breakwater. This will be followed with additional faring. Next up is modifying mast gate area and aft deck for several thru deck blocks. That should finish the pre-paint woodwork. Not to happy with the floor boards, different topic but it is going to require some boat shoes or the like to make it comfortable. Perhaps an attached plate would do but that is another day.
Received hub bearings.

Spinnaker cleats in place, breakwater ongoing. Think I will try screwing them in from beneath the deck. Oak blocks are inserted along panel for screwing into. A central support wedge is shown below after some shaping.
Trailer axle assemblies built locally with flexride torsion springs de-rated to 1400 lbf. Shipping things to Hawaii (if they will ship) is very expensive. My hub bearings do not match but they were free so ordered a new set. Tires, jack, winch, lights, coupler bought locally. Working on trailer design but hope to start cutting metal next week...yeah right.

Forgot breakwater so wood work not quite finished. I am also thinking about some thru deck cutouts just behind this barrier to better access all the lines along the mast but we'll see. I was advised to use bolts and nuts through the spinnaker cleat. One will need to be a wood screw and the other bolt-nut as the lower edge of the shear stringer is not very accessible.

Having trouble with the strips along the shear edge. I bought African Mahogany but it is a much more dense piece of wood and tough, Maybe it was sapele but not sure. Anyway I went ahead and worked it up trying to keep it wide at the cockpit deck but thin vertically. It had to be steamed and bent which helped considerably, 5" out of line to 1.5". The ends were too straight requiring excessive pressure to hold so I cut them off and refit to follow the shear as best possible. It is workable now but I have to mount 6 pieces on each side from stem to transom. Mounting will be silicon-bronze screws and nails, and epoxy. lets go, lets go, lets go!!!!!

Fitting and faring components on aft deck area. A thru deck block for the spinnaker sheet just behind the cockpit edge will be installed soon. Installed fore deck sheets with ease except the faring of the frame along the shear left a gap. Once cured I will prepare the trim around the shear with a conservatively widened section along the side decks. There are many fitting mods to make at mast gate, bow, fore stay, shrouds etc so the work keeps going but the end is drawing near.
